and so... another successful and happy day grows dim...
I walked today in the cool rain... quickly to Daft Punk, plunged into my own 'real-life' video now that the soundtrack played in my ears... somehow freed to 'observe' more... dissasociated by my privilege in knowing the moments 'theme song'...
and then slower, down the hill, to 'I'll Fly Away'...
through damp and desperate cigarette sucking workers turning eye of mistrust in my direction I belted out the 'difficult harmonizing'...
I felt much more a 'part of the scene'...
actually, the Daft punk half of the walk was really much more fun...
I discovered this used-crap shop, i think i mentioned it in association with my kick-ass new frying pans yesterday?... the lady had told me to return today as she had a percolator at home that she would bring in and GIVE to me... so I get there and alas, she has naught. She is immediately apologetic... the rain... her son... and even as I tell her really it is no problem, i was enjoying the rain, she is telling me of how she had made calls to friends, and stopped in at least one store looking for another for me...
so...
I am telling this story to this Canadian... the first one other than Kevin I have had more than a five sentence exchange with in a very very long while... (actually, and I shit you not - and excluding my bff - the phone, it was the first conversation I have had with anyone other than Kevin since Lisz left...) and I hear myself saying the words "ahh Canadians..." already I am cringing, this kid is twenty and prolly defensive, but there was no helping it... "I have decided living in Canada is kind of like watching Animal Planet...
NO no, don't get me wrong...
not like Shark Week, cute nice animal planet."
he did not concur...
but it's so true. People are so much nicer here...
however, and I'm firm on this,
The front seat of the cab thing?
NOT OK.
i will NEVER get over that. ever.
